NCDA
2010 Program Overview

NCDA is a program designed by ThunderDrift for drivers of all backgrounds who are interested in learning to drift. Our head instructor and team of expert drift coaches will guide you through a comprehensive process where you’ll learn the fundamentals of drifting a car in a safe and fun environment.

Your NCDA experience will start when you register for your first event. The first thing you’ll get is an intro packet with valuable information about what to bring with you, and how to prepare yourself and your car for your first day of drifting. We’ll also include some information about the exercises you’ll guide your car through, and the principles we’ll be teaching you.

When you arrive at the track, you’ll be greeted by our coaches and directed to a pit-spot. There you’ll be able to unload your supplies and set up your pit area before the first classroom session begins.
Pro Tip: The Thunderhill Grill has excellent breakfast burritos

After the first classroom session, drivers will make their way to the skidpad area for the first round of exercises. Every driver will have one of our friendly and knowledgeable coaches available to ride along, but it’s up to you. Drivers who would rather go without a coach are welcome to.

With the first exercise session complete drivers will make their way back to the classroom to discuss the on-track session, and to learn new theories and techniques to apply in the second exercise session. After the second exercise session is complete, we’ll break for lunch. The afternoon will depend on how well drivers are progressing. If all the drivers are comfortable drifting freely around the skidpad, we will change the course to an open-layout, and drift that way for the rest of the day. Instructors will still be available to ride with students during open-drifting.

At the end of the day students will pack up their things, clean their pit-space of any garbage or debris and have a safe drive home!
