Super-Am is ThunderDrift’s entry-level drifting competition series. It’s so entry-level, in fact, that drivers may not have competed in more than two drifting competition prior to their first Super-Am event. The events are held on Thunderhill’s skidpads, and there are no car-prep requirements. Cages and other race car things are not necessary. All we ask is that drivers have working seatbelts and brakes, no fluid leaks, and a helmet.
The regular competitions are single run tournaments, where half of the drivers are eliminated each round until there’s a winner. The top four unseeded drivers from each of the four regular competitions are then seeded as the 16 drivers in the final tandem competition.
The winner of the tandem competition gets free entry to every round of the next ProAm season, which usually start in February or March!
